Profile

Dr Kohli began his career in New South Wales as a Resident Medical Officer at Liverpool Hospital, subsequently advancing through targeted terms as a Senior Resident Medical Officer in both Interventional Neuroradiology and Interventional Radiology. Following this comprehensive foundation, he was accepted into accredited specialist radiology training. He completed his clinical radiology training at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, earning his fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) in 2024. During this academic journey, he also completed a Master of Diagnostic Radiography (Honours) at The University of Sydney, where he was named Dean's Scholar for achieving the highest weighted average mark in the degree.

Upon qualifying as a radiologist, Dr Kohli undertook a highly specialised Interventional Radiology Fellowship at Liverpool Hospital, under the mentorship of Dr Schlaphoff. This was further enriched by a CIRSE Fellowship in Advanced Cryoablation and MRI Guided Interventions at the New Civil Hospital in Strasbourg, France, under the tutelage of Professor Afshin Gangi.

Dr Kohli currently holds appointments as an Interventional Radiologist at both Liverpool and Campbelltown Public Hospitals. He is an active academic contributor, having published multiple peer-reviewed papers and presented his research at premier national and international forums, including the Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia (IRSA), the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE), and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). He also serves the wider radiological community as an expert peer reviewer for Academic Radiology and CVIR.

Dr Kohli is a subspecialist interventional radiologist with deep expertise across a broad range of advanced minimally invasive procedures:

Interventional Oncology: He specialises in advanced cryoablation techniques for the curative and palliative management of renal, liver, and soft tissue tumours, with a focus on cutting-edge MRI-guided ablation therapies.

Percutaneous Interventions & Complex Pain Management: He offers sophisticated percutaneous therapies for chronic pain relief, including cryoneurolysis and advanced radiofrequency (RF) ablations.

Endovascular Procedures: His vascular portfolio encompasses specialised embolisation therapies, including uterine fibroid embolisation (UFE) and haemorrhoid artery embolisation, as well as mechanical thrombectomy for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and acute pulmonary embolism (PE) management.

Driven by technological innovation, Dr Kohli's current clinical interests focus on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics into the future of interventional radiology workflows.
